Jake Gyllenhaal has revealed that he tried to sell Viagra to doctors while studying the blue pills for his latest movie role.
Gyllenhaal plays a womaniser who begins a career as a pharmaceutical representative in Love and Other Drugs.
The actor told Total Film that he studied the pills to learn more about the drug, and then tested his memory by relaying his knowledge to doctors.
He explained: "Viagra has a huge booklet on what it is, the side effects and all the chemical components. I would memorise these things. And we would improv them and then I would sell to the doctors when I had learnt from them."
When asked whether he had ever used Viagra himself, he joked: "There are some things I have to keep for myself!"
The film is based on the book Hard Sell: The Evolution of a Viagra Salesman by Jamie Reidy.
