Get used to seeing Halle Berry more frequently because she is on a mission to step back into the limelight. According to her profile on The Internet Movie Database, Halle has signed on to four films including The Surrogate in 2012, The Skank Robbers in 2011, Shoe Addicts Anonymous in 2011, and Dark Tide which she recently wrapped up.
All of that is amazing, but it's her latest movie that has the big wigs in Hollywood buzzing about Halle earning another Oscar. This film called Frankie And Alice and she not only stars in the film, she's also credited as a producer! Take that Kim Kardashian and Gabriel Aubry!
Frankie and Alice is a drama based on a true story about a young woman with multiple personality disorder who struggles to remain her true self and not give in to her racist alter-personality.
“I read lots of books – thick medical dense books that took me awhile to get through,” Halle said of her preparation to take on the role of someone with multiple personality disorder. “I watched tape of real people who suffer with multiple personality disorder and then I just talked to the real people.”
While she is proud of the film, she wasn’t ready to buy in to an early Oscar buzz surrounding the project.
Frankie And Alice, which also stars Phylicia Rashad, will hit select theaters December 17 in L.A. and New York in order to be considered for an Oscar nomination. The film will hit theaters nationwide officially on February 4.
