160x120 PS3 GamepadA controversial Panorama investigation into video games addiction was watched by more than 2.3 million on Monday night, the latest audience data has revealed. 

The Addicted to Games? special - challenged by games industry bodies UKIE and TIGA before transmission - averaged 2.39m (8.5%) for BBC One from 8.30pm.

Elsewhere on BBC One, The One Show appealed to 5.47m (23%) from 7pm, before Inside Outgrabbed 4.46m (17.2%). The latest episode of drama Accused pulled in 3.42m (13%) in the 9pm hour.

A combined audience of 7.55m (28.7%) tuned in to watch I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!on ITV1 in the 9pm hour. Later on the channel, The Day John Lennon Died - a new documentary commemorating the 30th anniversary of the former Beatle's death - was seen by 1.68m (12.6%) from 10.45pm.

Live coverage of snooker's UK Championship mustered 780k (3.1%) on BBC Two from 7pm, before University Challenge and Miranda grabbed respective audiences of 2.6m (9.3%) and 2.49m (8.8%) in the 8pm hour. 

Also on BBC Two, Ian Hislop's Age of the Do-Gooders fetched 2.36m (9%) from 9pm, before Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon's new comedy series The Trip closed with 960k (4.5%) from 10pm.

Over on Channel 4, Kirsty and Phil's Perfect Christmas was watched by 1.38m (4.9%) in the 8pm hour and 329k (1.2%) on +1. It was followed by Come Dine With Me: Coronation Street Special, which cooked up 2.23m (8.5%) and 379k (2%) on timeshift. Chris Moyles' Quiz Night mustered 910k (4.6%) from 10pm, while 97k (1%) watched the show an hour later.

Channel 5's How Do They Do It? attracted 673k (2.6%) from 7.30pm, before The Gadget Showaveraged 1.11m (4%) in the 8pm hour. Extreme Fishing With Robson Greene caught 1.02m (3.9%) from 9pm. It was followed by a screening of Blade with 713k (5.4%).

Overall, ITV1 won primetime with 30.6% against BBC One's 18.3%. BBC Two came in third with 6.7%, followed by Channel 4 with 5.5% (+1: 1.1%) and Channel 5 with 3.4%.

Elsewhere, Coronation Street Uncovered: Live entertained 1.04m (5.4%) on ITV2 from 10pm and 64k (0.6%) on timeshift.

Coverage of Liverpool's Premier League victory against Aston Villa was watched by 823k (3.2%) on Sky Sports 1 from 7pm.
