The King's Speec has walked away with five gongs at the 13th annual Moët British Independent Film Awards.
The royal drama about King George VI's struggle to overcome a crippling stammer beat Monsters, Never Let Me Go, Four Lionsand Kick-Ass to the title of 'Best British Independent Film' at last night's ceremony held at Old Billingsgate Market in London.
The movie's stars Colin Firth, Helena Bonham Carter and Geoffrey Rush were also honoured in the acting categories, while its writer David Seidler picked up an award for his screenplay.
Sci-fi Monsters followed close behind with three wins, including a 'Best Director' trophy for newcomer Gareth Edwards - although he lost out on the 'Best Debut Director' award to The Arbor's Clio Barnard.
Carey Mulligan was crowned 'Best Actress' for her portrayal of Kathy in Mark Romanek's Never Let Me Go, and Joanne Froggatt was named 'Most Promising Newcomer' for her role in In Our Name.
Elsewhere, there were special recognition awards for Bonham Carter and Liam Neeson, as well as trophies for Cambodian documentary Enemies Of The People and French thriller A Prophet.
