Ryan Gosling has insisted that he and other current male film stars are trying to break away from movie studio control.Speaking to New York Magazine, Gosling suggested that he tries to actively resist making the same kind of films repeatedly.
"Some of us are tired of all the sissies in this town," he said. "The ones who go along, flow with the flow, line up where they're told to line up at."
The star added: "The studios want you to make the same movie over and over again - if that's the movie they liked, that's the movie you should keep making."
The Blue Valentine actor further asserted that he tries throw his full effort into every acting role that he takes on.
He explained: "I know it sounds dramatic... but every movie I make is the first and last. It's important for me to think that the things you've made, they're in the past. It's what you're making now that matters."
Blue Valentine is released on December 31 in US cinemas.
