Rap group Blahzay Blahzay have accused Wyclef Jean of stealing one of their beats and using it on his own record.

The hip-hop group are seeking $2m (£1.5m) in a lawsuit against Jean, reports TMZ.

The members of Blahzay Blahzay claim that Jean approached them for permission to sample their song 'Danger' on his 2007 album The Carnival.

They allege that they told the star he could use the song if he allowed them to appear on the album. However, Wyclef did not accept the terms and reportedly used the song anyway, sending them a cheque.

The rappers added that they rejected and returned the cheque.

Blahzay Blahzay filed the suit last year and apparently entered into settlement negotiations with Jean, but decided to resubmit the lawsuit after the talks fell apart.
