In a recent interview at the Sheraton Hotels and Towers, Lonzo Nzekwe who was adjudged one of the twenty emerging directors at the Reelworld Film Festival has said Omoni Oboli remains the best actress he has seen. Lonzo further disclosed that a scene in Anchor Baby proves that Omoni is a born actress.He said, “In Anchor Baby, there was this particular scene where Omoni had to cry and act like one who is deeply frustrated and emotionally disturbed and she got so much into that role that after I had said ‘cut’, the whole crew was spellbound and crying adding I myself, couldn’t distinguish between Joyce Unanga and Omoni Oboli.

“When I watched a few of Omoni’s movies, I was convinced that she has the ability to transform the script. Plus, I did a brief background check on her and spoke to her extensively on the phone to know more about her. That’s when I decided she was the one”
In another development, Omoni Oboli, winner of the Best Actress award at the Harlem International Film Festival promised all dissatisfied viewers of Anchor Baby a refund of their money if they feel the movie was a waste of time or money.
While giving reasons for this , Omoni said “I am not all confident about Anchor Baby because I was a part of the movie, but in all honesty the film is not like any other in recent time. The story line challenged me to be at my best while on location and I still get emotional when I watch the movie though I acted in it”
Omoni Oboli and Lonzo say they are not just encouraged by the quality of the movie, but by the fact that Silverbird Cinemas has rated Anchor Baby the movie of the year in the class of Ije.
